Mark Bogert
Mark Bogert, born on November 8, 1983, first came into contact with music at the age of seven — not with the guitar, but the trumpet. At twelve, he discovered the guitar, and from that moment on, it became an inseparable part of his life.
Mark studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory (Codarts), completing two degrees: Performing Musician (2003–2007) and Bachelor of Music in Education (2009–2011).
He spent several years playing with Knight Area, recording three albums with the band. During this period, he also released two instrumental solo albums featuring Peter Vink on bass and Pieter van Hoorn on drums. The trio shared the stage with renowned guitarists such as Greg Howe, Tony MacAlpine, and Mattias Eklundh (Freak Kitchen).
In 2019, Mark launched Magoria – JtR1888, a rock opera about Jack the Ripper, a three-year project that brought together fifteen talented Dutch musicians and singers and resulted in a double album.
Beyond his band work, Mark has also appeared as a session guitarist. Highlights include performing alongside Steve Vai(2018) and John Petrucci (Dream Theater, 2019) during the Sena Guitar Awards.
